You also need to consider the requirements of whatever it is that you want to store. For instance, do you need a box with solid sides, or would one with ventilated sides be better? Does the item need to be kept out of sunlight which might discolour or otherwise damage it?

When buying nest stacking containers, you also need to know whether or not you need to be able to see what is inside. If you do, and the item doesn’t have to be kept out of sunlight or hidden for security purposes, you could buy containers that are made of clear plastic. Of course, another method for quick identification is to use boxes of different colours. Many products are manufactured in several colours, so you can easily identify what is in each of the boxes, simply by the colour of the box.
